Frank Crail knows what being a risk taker entails. Thankfully, his risk-taking paid off. Today he is the Chairman of the Board, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory a company he started in 1981 with a dream.
Back then, he opened a small chocolate shop in Durango, Colorado focusing on quality of ingredients and quality control of the production process. What developed was exquisite chocolates and confections which caught the imagination, and taste buds, of his customers.
Today Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is a publicly traded company. They are an international franchiser of gourmet chocolate and confection outlets. They produce an extensive line of premium chocolates and other confectionery items for sale in these retail shops.
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory also has a 53,000 square foot factory outside Durango. They have 332 store locations around the world. The company is a reflection of its founder. Frank Crail is a man who took risks to create a viable going concern, which now provides employment to local economies where the company he started operates.
That's what risk takers do. They create, innovate, and work hard. They provide us with the goods and services we need and enjoy. They see a need in the marketplace and strive to meet it, incurring the stress, as well as the rewards that go with it. Frank Crail knows all about that. Pass the chocolate, please!
